I’m so excited to write my first blog post. Many years ago, God placed this idea upon my heart. The hardest part was waiting on His timing. That is often extremely hard….the waiting. We don’t want to wait. We want the answer now. We want instant gratification. After all, we live in a world that teaches us that we can have it all, whatever “it” may be, and that we can have it our way. We live in a fast food, drive thru world. Why wait?
When I think about waiting on God’s timing, I think about Abraham and Sarah. God promised Abraham descendants and they grew tired of waiting and took matters in their own hands. This caused much turmoil. You can read about God’s promises to Abraham in Genesis chapters 11-21.
Being patient and waiting are not areas I’m strong in, but over the years God has taught me the value of waiting on His timing. Many times I have gone ahead of Him and not waited and caused myself all kinds of turmoil. Thankfully He is patient with me! Psalm 37:7 tells us to rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. This requires a lot of prayer, and trust in Him that He knows best.
Right now, I am waiting on God’s timing regarding a kidney transplant. I am in stage 5 chronic kidney failure. God is using this to teach me many lessons, which I’m sure I’ll write about at some point. For now, I wait. For now, I trust in His timing, and while I wait…I’ll enjoy this dream He has brought to fruition and be thankful for each day He gives me and hopefully encourage someone along the way.
Blessings to you!
