We are in the middle of winter season, which is not my favorite season as those who know me can attest to. It was 4 degrees when I left the house this morning for an appointment I had to go to. 4 degrees. Incredibly cold, though I know some states are experiencing much colder temperatures. As I was seeking the Lord about the blog topic for this week, I felt Him talking to me about the various seasons in life, seasons we experience along the way.
Right now, the Lord has me in a waiting on His timing season. As I await His timing for a kidney transplant, He has blessed and continues to bless as I wait. He has me in the care of many great doctors and nurses. He allows me to share my testimony and hopefully encourage someone during this season. I am thankful for His provision and care. I am thankful He saw me through the cancer season, and I know He will move in this time as well.
There are many seasons of life. Some are easier than others. Some are extremely hard. Some seasons you feel you may not make it through, but somehow you did. Some seasons are joyful, and some are so very sad. Seasons of loss, seasons of change, seasons of contentment, seasons of hardship.
Soloman tells us in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 there is a time and purpose for every season. As I think back on the various seasons I have gone through in my life, I am thankful for the lessons learned, how I can see God’s hand, guidance, strength, and provision during those times, and I am so very thankful that He is faithful and never, ever, left me alone, even during the darkest of times.
The thing about seasons is that they change, and we are never in the same season our whole life. Winter will soon move into spring, and spring into summer, and so on. Seasons are temporary. I don’t know what season God has you in right now, but I pray that you can see Him in this season you are in, that you can find hope and strength to endure, that He draws you closer to Him, and that you can find something to be thankful about even in the toughest seasons of life. I pray that you are encouraged that this too shall pass.
We have a loving and faithful God. I honestly don’t know how I would have made it through certain times, but for Him. He is my rock, my fortress, my help in times of trouble, my joy, my deliverer, my hope and stay. I pray He is that in your life as well.
I pray His blessings and joy for you in this season you are in. May you feel His comfort and strength, His love and His mercy. I pray you keep your eyes on Him. May you endure and come out of it with a wonderful testimony to His glory. He is worthy to be praised.
Blessings to you,
Jackie
