Suddenly. Without warning. Unexpectedly. That’s how life seems to come at us sometimes. It takes a quick turn out of nowhere, broadsiding you at times, catching you completely unaware, sometimes shocks the pants off ya, so to speak. It may be a tough health diagnosis, the ending of a relationship, job loss, losing a precious loved one, a person isn’t who you thought they were, a betrayal of some sort, a large and unexpected expense, a huge decision to make, a path that divides and you don’t know which way to go….and on and on. Just when you think things are going well, suddenly….
Sudden changes are part of this life we live on this earth. Sudden changes are not always bad. Suddenly a prayer is answered after what seems like a long time coming. Suddenly a door opens up. Suddenly a new friendship is formed. Suddenly the spring flowers begin to bloom. Suddenly the burden is lifted. Suddenly a longtime dream comes to fruition, suddenly….
I don’t know what your “suddenly” is or if that is even your circumstance right now, but it has been mine in the recent year and even very recently. As I have gone through unexpected life events, those unexpected twists and turns along the way, I have come to be thankful for the one constant in my life, the one firm foundation that will never shift or change or ever be moved, and that would be my Lord, my God. He is my solid, firm, unwavering foundation. He is the One who is always, always, always the same. He is the faithful One, the One who I can always depend on. The bible tells me He is the same yesterday and today. In this equally wonderful, always changing, sometimes scary, often chaotic world we live in, I find so much comfort and strength in that. I find comfort and strength in His word. I find someone I can talk to regarding my deepest concerns, my greatest fears, my hopes and dreams, and He is always with me. The Bible also tells me that He will never leave me nor forsake me. That’s a firm, unshifting foundation.
It is my prayer that this post encourages someone in their relationship with the Lord, to drawer closer to Him whatever they may be dealing with or going through. If you are not in a sudden change right now, I hope you have the opportunity to encourage someone who is, to lift them up in prayer, to encourage them in the faith, to remind them that God loves them.
We serve a mighty God and He is so faithful, so trustworthy!
Blessings to you,
Jackie
