Trust Jesus Along the Way

How do you know you can trust someone? A few things come to mind:

  • Patterns of behavior
  • Integrity
  • Keeping promises
  • Attitude
  • Authenticity
  • Following through on commitments

These are just a few things that indicate to me that someone can be trusted. Mind you, we are all human, and sometimes despite our best efforts, we fail. We let people down. However, there is someone who will never, ever let me down, will never, ever fail me, and who will always keep His promises. His name is Jesus.

How do I know I can trust Him? Remembering His faithfulness in the past helps me trust in His faithfulness in the present and in the future. He has never let me down. Psalm 62:8 encourages us to trust in the Lord always and tells us He is a refuge for us, a shelter, a protection. I find comfort in that. Psalm 28:7 tells us the psalmist’s heart trusted in Him.

A favorite passage of Scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6 which tells us to trust in the Lord and not in our own understanding. The Lord knows everything that is going on. He knows the future; He knows the plans He has for me. The Lord never changes, and He is always trustworthy, always faithful. He is my source of strength, my source of peace, my help, and my comfort.

I may not like this current situation, I may not want to walk this path He’s given me, but one thing I know for sure…. He is right here with me. He will never leave me, and He will help me through it.

My hope and my prayer is that I will bring honor and glory to my Lord and Savior and that my faith will grow stronger. This cancer journey is a hard road, but I know the One who is my comfort and strength. I am not alone. He is right beside me every step, every hard step, along the way.

Praise His Name!

His blessings to you,

Jackie
