The season is changing. Fall is not only in the air, but it is here, ready or not. It is a beautiful time of year in my state of Kentucky. The leaves are incredibly gorgeous, the mornings are crisp and perfect for a hot cup of tea, the afternoon is warmer allowing for fun adventures such as hiking or visiting pumpkin farms.
The changing season has me thinking of changes in our own lives. Change can be exciting, but oftentimes it is daunting. We get in our cozy comfort zone and don’t want to change. Change requires effort, requires putting ourselves “out there”, requires us to move into the unknown.
Let’s consider some positive aspects of change:
- New growth
- Exciting adventures
- New places, maybe
- New people, new friendships
- A new attitude
- A new beginning
- A fresh start
- A new hope
This blog is a new change for me. It is exciting and a dream come true as I said in my first blog last week; However, I must admit it’s a little scary, putting myself out there. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 tells us there is a time for every purpose under heaven. It reminds us that we live in a world of change. I find it comforting in times of change to read God’s Word.
If you are in a time of change in your life right now, on the precipice of something new, or facing a challenge or crisis along the way, facing a crossroad and unsure which turn to take, I pray God will give you comfort and strength, hope, direction, and wisdom in the decisions you may have to navigate. Not every change is something adventurous or exciting. Sometimes change may be something sad or hurtful we must go through. May the Lord bless you, strengthen you, and sustain you as you go along the way.
God bless,
Jackie
