We’ve just begun a brand-new year. I am thankful and looking forward to what God has in store for me and my family and looking for opportunities to serve the Lord.
Many people think of the first day of the year as a brand new start, a chance to do better, be better, accomplish goals, and perhaps move past the cares, worries, and disappointments of the past year. Plans are made. Hopes and dreams are ignited. It’s time to move forward.
I would like to present a new perspective, if I may. Each morning, we receive a “fresh start”, a brand-new day where we can move past the cares, hurts, and disappointments. We can hope, dream, plan, redirect, and rejoice in the new day God has given us. We can look forward to what is in store. Psalm 118:24 tells us: This is the day the LORD has made; We will be glad and rejoice in it (NKJV). Each new day is a gift from God. Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us His compassions, or mercies, fail not and are new each morning, emphasizing God’s unending love and faithfulness, and offering hope and a fresh start. I find so much comfort in these verses. I encourage you to look them up and read them for yourself, even memorizing them.

Resolutions, plans, and goals are great; however, let’s make room for the Lord and seek His will and guidance in all we do. Wishing you and your family a wonderful and blessed 2026!
Jackie
